Bible Lessons that Actually Stick by Tied 2 Teaching Blog Post Cover with colorful Bible Story Posters

If you’re a Sunday School teacher, homeschool parent, or Christian teacher, you know how important it is to teach God’s Word with clarity and consistency. But at lease for me, I’m sometimes stretched thin, running from lesson to lesson, juggling responsibilities, or just plain tired. Can you relate? If so, sharing meaningful Bible lessons with your kiddos shouldn’t add to your stress.

That’s why I’m such a fan of no-prep Bible lessons that actually work—the kind that captivate kids, reinforce the message, and give a break from endless prep. Check out these ideas below, and before you leave, don’t forget to grab your FREE set of David and Goliath posters below! They’re my gift to you!

The Power of Simple and Visual Bible Teaching

We all know that kids connect best with stories—especially when those stories come to life visually. That’s why I absolutely LOVE using these Bible story coloring pages and illustrated posters. They are so so simple! And, when kids can see the characters, color the scenes, and follow a timeline, something clicks. The true story from God’s Word isn’t just something they hear—it becomes something they experience.

How No-Prep Bible Lessons Can Still Be Meaningful

I’ve found that you don’t need to spend hours crafting the perfect activity to make an impact. Plus, we are told in the Bible that God’s Word does not return void (Isaiah 55:11). Here’s what a typical low-prep Bible lesson can look like:

  • Start with the Story: Choose a Bible account and read it aloud or paraphrase it in kid-friendly language.
  • Show the Timeline Posters: Use colorful illustrations that walk kids through each part of the story, helping them see the sequence and grasp the big picture.
  • Let Them Color: Pass out black-and-white versions of the posters. As kids color, they review what they’ve just learned—without even realizing it!
  • Have a Conversation: Ask simple questions like “What was your favorite part?” or “What did you learn about God?”

It’s quick. It’s easy. And it sticks.

If you’re looking for a done-for-you option, I’ve created a growing bundle of Bible Story Coloring Pages and Posters that’s perfect for Sunday School, homeschool, or even family devotions. Each pack in the bundle includes:
