If you want to teach your kids about dinosaurs from a Biblical worldview or young earth perspective, you know the struggle. You head to the library or search online, only to find that nearly every book, documentary, or lesson plan assumes dinosaurs lived “millions of years ago” and evolved into birds.
It can be disheartening—especially when you want to encourage your child’s curiosity about God’s creation while staying true to a biblical worldview. We’ve been there. Thankfully there are fantastic, creation-friendly dinosaur resources out there that teach the truth about dinosaurs without the evolutionary timelines.
Here are some of my favorite options for Christian teachers, parents, and homeschoolers:

Creation Museum & Ark Encounter
If you ever get the chance to head to northern Kentucky, the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter are absolutely worth the trip. Our family had the opportunity to go last year and we are ready to go again. There is just so much to take in.
There are countless things that make both of these places special! You’ll find full-sized dinosaur models, fascinating fossil displays, and interactive kids’ areas—all presented through the lens of Scripture. It’s a place where the Bible and science come together in a way that’s both awe-inspiring and so easy for kids to understand. Our kids didn’t even know how much they were learning.
One of my favorite spots is the “Dinosaur Den” at the Creation Museum. Here, kids can get an up-close look at detailed models of behemoths and dragons—just like the creatures described in the Bible. If you’re looking for some more reasons to visit the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter, check out my post 5 Reasons to Visit the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum with Your Family.
But, if a road trip isn’t in the cards right now, I totally get it. The good news is that both attractions have robust websites and also offer virtual tours and plenty of videos, so you can still explore from home!
Faith-Friendly Dinosaur Books
Finding children’s dinosaur books that don’t include “millions of years” talk can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. But there are definitely still some gems out there!
Here are just a few of my favorites:
- Dinosaurs for Kids – This book from Answers in Genesis is bright, colorful, and packed with biblical truth.
- Dinosaurs of Eden – In this book, Ken Ham delivers a creative walk through history that connects dinosaurs to the Bible’s timeline.
- The Great Dinosaur Mystery Solved! – Great for slightly older kids who want to dig deeper into the topic.
- Discovering the Truth About Dinosaurs – A colorful, fact-filled book that explores dinosaurs from a biblical perspective.
- Guide to the Dinosaurs – This awesome book is an engaging reference from the Institute for Creation Research that combines stunning illustrations with clear, biblical explanations about dinosaur history and design.
- Dinosaurs: God’s Mysterious Creatures – This one is a kid-friendly book from the Institute for Creation Research that answers big questions about dinosaurs—what they were, when they lived, and why they’re not around today—all from a biblical perspective.
Be sure to heck out the Answers in Genesis or the Institute for Creation Research store for more books like these. They’re a great way to teach your kiddos about dinosaurs without confusing them with evolutionary language.

Dinosaur Research Organizers for Projects and Reports
If your kids love doing projects and diving deep into facts, my Dinosaur and Extinct Animals Research Organizers are a great way to keep that learning organized.
In this pack i’ve included more than 40 two-page organizers—available in both print and digital versions—kids can record where their dinosaur lived, what it ate, its habitat, physical description, fun facts, and more. There’s even a space for writing a short report and listing references.
They’re perfect for a dinosaur research project, a homeschool unit study, or just a fun “pick your favorite dinosaur and learn all about it” activity at home. And the best part? They focus on the facts without sneaking in evolutionary timelines.

Christian Science Curriculums with Dinosaur Studies
If you’re looking for a more structured way to include dinosaurs in your science lessons, there are several Christian curriculums that have done the hard work for you. Apologia and Maser Books are two that you should check out.
- Apologia Science – Especially their Exploring Creation with Zoology series.
- Master Books – Their science units often include creation-based dinosaur studies that are perfect for younger learners.
These programs take the guesswork out of lesson planning and make it easy to keep your teaching in line with the Bible.
Creation-Friendly Videos and Documentaries
Sometimes, a good video is a great place to launch your study of dinosaurs. The right visuals, engaging narration, and biblical perspective can turn a history or science lesson into something your kids will be talking about for days.
There are many great videos out there. I am including a few below that I think are especially great for upper elementary and middle school kids.
- Dinosaurs, Genesis & the Gospel – A fun and engaging look at dinosaurs from a creation perspective, filled with visuals and explanations that keep kids hooked.
- Is Genesis History? – While it covers more than just dinosaurs, it includes fascinating segments on fossils and how these creatures fit into the Bible’s timeline.
- God Made Dinosaurs – A colorful, faith-filled video that uses biblical truth to introduce kids to God’s amazing dinosaur creations.
- Dinosaurs and the Bible – This is a clear, scripture-based video that answers common questions about when dinosaurs were created and whether they lived alongside humans.
- When Did God Create Dinosaurs? – In this video, Eric Lyons explores how the Bible’s account of Creation Week explains when dinosaurs were made and how that timeline fits with God’s Word.
These videos available online, and easily accessible through YouTube, or streaming services. They’re honestly really great for sparking discussions with your kids about how science and Scripture work together
Field Trips and Hands-On Learning
Even if your local science, natural history museum , or national park site is secular, they can still be a great place to learn—if you go prepared. We have traveled all over the country with our kids to various National Park and and other educational sites. Although these places often do incorporate evolutionary language into their displays, there is still many valuable things that can be learned.
Before you visit one of these places, talk with your kids abouthow some of the signs and displays are based on assumptions about the past. Then, focus your visit on what we can observe: the size, shape, and structure of the bones, the way fossils are preserved, and the artistry of the displays. If you want to make it even more engaging, you can even have your kids bring along a “dinosaur observation journal” so they can sketch what they see and add biblical facts they’ve learned.
Finding biblical, creation-friendly dinosaur resources takes a little more effort, but the payoff is worth it. Every book, activity, or video you choose is another opportunity to help kids see the world through the lens of God’s Word. When they learn about dinosaurs in a way that affirms the Bible’s account of history, it strengthens their understanding of truth, deepens their faith, and helps them develop a worldview that will guide them for the rest of their lives.
